All of a sudden, pretty much overnight, the entire concert, sporting event, theater and festival industry came to a screeching halt. A virus pandemic call COVID-19 has wildly spread itself around the globe, and pulled the handbrake on all the lives in this world. Authorities around the world are taking steps and precautions to keep their citizens safe, even if it’s of great inconvenience and/or loss. Many industries have been affected, some only slightly, and some horrendously. One industry in particular that we personally are concerned with is the entertainment industry, specifically concerts, sporting events and theater shows. Many of the safeguards put into place by authorities include ‘stay at home’ orders, along with ‘social distancing’ which means if you do happen to be out in public, you need to keep a safe distance between you and other people. I’ve seen anywhere from 6 to 12 feet depending on the location. So, is it just me, or can you see a problem having a concert, while enforcing a ‘social distancing’ order? On the majority of shows, I can’t see that happening … I cant see Metallica playing at Madison Square Garden where the audience is wearing breathing masks, and all sitting 6+ feet apart; LoL, I just can’t see that happening.

So what do we think will happen to the industry? To be honest, we don’t know. We are hoping things ‘return to normal’ but between the fear that people will still be filled with, and some of our untrustworthy media outlets pushing fear, we feel it could be years before things go back to ‘normal’. People are afraid, and that needs to go away before anything near normalcy can return. What we have seen though is the rise in ‘at-home streaming concerts’. Many, many entertainers have participated in different ‘streaming’ concerts and fans loved it. It may be the way concerts are held for now and in the future, that is until we can all gather in public again. … Would I rip up my concert tickets? NO! Hopefully shows will be postponed with new dates. Have faith, have patience and be safe!
