Guitar master Gary Clark Jr. has not only released a new studio album named ‘This Land‘, he recently put out the music video for one of the songs from the album. The song is called ‘Pearl Cadillac‘ and it’s an incredible rock-y blues-y song that is actually a tribute to his mother in the time from when he left his home for the first time to create a new life on the road. To this day, his mother still owns a pearl Cadillac Deville. The music video is pretty cool too. It’s shot in what is referred to as having a film noir feel. It includes a Cadillac Deville, highways that are deserted, smoke filled bars, and beautifully decorated hotel lobbies. You’ll find the video below, so you can check it out and take as listen for yourself.

Gary Clark Jr is presently on a concert tour which is in support of recently released album This Land. He has upcoming shows in Dallas, Phoenix, Santa Barbara, Berkeley, Los Angeles and Austin. The tour will be ending at Austin City Limits, where Clark has two televised performances on October 5th and October 12th. Clark is also scheduled for a handful of upcoming late-night appearances, performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on September 26th, and then on The Late Late Show With James Corden on September 30th.

Lyrics:

You say I owe you nothin’
If I could, I’d give you the world
You made somethin’ from nothin
I thank God for such a beautiful girl
He brought on this world, yeah
I remember when I left home in that pearl Cadillac
I was searching for some kinda way to pay you back
For your love, your love, your love
Your love, your love, your love
Your love, your love, your love
Well, I won’t let you down, I’ma make you proud
You say money ain’t everything
You could’ve made it on your own
Now I understand your sacrifice
Late nights, fussing and fighting at home
I’m sorry for the things I did wrong
I remember when I left home in that pearl Cadillac
I was searching for some kinda way to pay you back
For your love, your love, your love
Your love, your love, your love
Your love, your love, your love
Well, I won’t let you down, I’ma make you proud, yeah
I don’t wanna let you down
Oh, I only wanna make you proud, yeah
You say I owe you nothin’
Oh, if I could, I’d give you the world
You made somethin’ from nothin’
I thank God for such a beautiful girl
He put on this world, yeah
