When I awoke the other day to the news that Scott Weiland had died overnight, I was totally blown away. First off, he was still rather young (late 40’s) and not one expects this to happen to some one who’s so much in the public eye. To me, Scott Weiland was an icon, one of the best rock and roll frontmen of his time. I believe that if Scott Weiland cut himself, he would ooze Rock-n-Roll and Sexuality. He had an awesome voice and truly got into his music. Again, he was one of the best frontmen there has been in a while. Scott Weiland was found dead on his tour bus when a member of his tour team located him. Rumors swirled about what killed the 48 year old. Drugs where questioned due to his rocky past with addiction. Although we will not comment any further about rumors of drugs. A strange fact (that has nothing to due with Scott’s passing) is that Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue had just used the same tour bus right before Scott Weiland began using it. No connection, but I’ sure it kind of freaking out Nikki a little bit.

Scott Weiland’s funeral took place at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in California and on the day of his funeral, there were about fifty or so attendees. His band mates from Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver were mostly there. Both Slash and Duff McHagan got up and gave their own eulogies. Others who spoke at the funeral include Dave Navarro, Jamie Weiland (Scott’s Wife), his manager Tom Vitorino, Rocco Guarino amongst many others. It wasn’t a huge funeral, but it was said to be quite beautiful and sad at the same time. His ex-wife and their children did not attend the funeral, but supposedly had their own private ceremony for his untimely passing.
